It all began with a single spark of vision and a deep love for the North Yorkshire countryside.

Back in 2015, we purchased the High Oaks Grange estate—an enchanting spot nestled between Pickering and Thornton-le-Dale. What followed was four years of planning, graft, and a clear vision to create something truly special. From converting barns to crafting bespoke glamping pods, every detail was carefully considered and personally overseen by our family.

In June 2019, after years of behind-the-scenes work, we quietly let the world know we existed. Within hours, we received our very first booking—a moment that will always stay with us as the start of something extraordinary. High Oaks Grange opened to guests in July 2019.

Back Then

At launch, High Oaks Grange was a small, stylish countryside retreat offering just a few hand-finished accommodations. Each property was packed with personality and designed for comfort, set against the backdrop of rolling hills and peaceful woodland. Those early days were shaped by personal touches, guest feedback, and plenty of Yorkshire charm.

Just months after opening, we were met with one of the greatest challenges any business could face—the global pandemic. But through resilience, adaptation, and the incredible support of our guests, we pulled through stronger and more determined than ever.

Fast forward to today, and High Oaks Grange is a thriving destination for luxury Yorkshire getaways. Our estate now features a diverse collection of holiday homes: from elegant cottages and family woodland lodges to boutique glamping pods and our newest contemporary lodge retreats.

Each accommodation comes with modern comforts—private hot tubs, dog-friendly features, superfast Wi-Fi, smart TVs, and welcome hampers packed with local treats. Guests love our exclusive dog field, woodland walks, and the convenience of the fantastic farm shop at the bottom of the drive.

Six years on from that very first booking, High Oaks Grange remains proudly family-run. We’ve expanded our offering, and welcomed thousands of guests—but the heart of what we do hasn’t changed.
